notes: A late work by a then-87-year-old conductor/composer, who, "retired", finally had time to set down music on paper.  The Slovak conductor Ludovit Rajter (1906-2000), best known here for his recordings of the symphonies of Franz Schmidt, was based in Bratislava for the greater part of his life and also worked in Hungary.  He never visited the United States in his long career.
