Kamen's last Opus...This weekend, we'll feature the final film score that Michael Kamen was working on when he suddenly passed away: the score to Back to Gaya (Bo, Zino & the Snurks). Fans of Kamen's music will surely recognize this signature sound, very reminiscent of his Robin Hood score. This soundtrack recording became an emotional experience for everyone involved including Kamen's longtime associate Steve McLaughlin who headed up the project to finalize the score for inclusion into the film. The score was recorded by Kamen's favorite orchestra, the London Metropolitan Orchestra and included all of the principal players of greater London. The musician's love Michael Kamen and they played to pay their respects. Ultimately the result is a beautifully recorded and performed film score that is a fitting finale for this great film composer. Join Brad Sayles as he explores that score and more from Michael Kamen.
